Your kitchen stays on your phone
PantryPal asks for one thing: a name to put on your shelf. No email address, no password, no account. Your shelf, your kept recipes and that name are stored on this device and nowhere else — there is no PantryPal account server for them to be uploaded to.
What leaves the device
When you scan a receipt or your food, that photo is sent to our recipe service so it can be read. When you ask for recipes, the ingredient names you picked are sent so they can be written. When the chef draws a picture, the name of what is being drawn is sent so the drawing can be made. Our service passes these to Google's Gemini models for processing and returns the results. We don't keep your photos or the lists from a scan or a recipe request. Generated drawings, keyed only by what they depict, may be kept so the same picture is not paid for twice and is not tied to you. The app also sends a per-install device identifier — not your name, not an advertising id — so the service can slow down abuse. Google handles API data under its own terms.

A copy of each drawing is also cached on your device so it never has to be fetched twice. You can clear that cache any time in Settings.
Buying the Season Pass
Purchases go through Apple, not through us. Apple tells PantryPal one thing: whether this Apple ID currently holds a pass, and whether it has already used a free trial. Not your name, not your email, not your card. We keep no record of who bought anything — the app reads your entitlement straight from the App Store on this device. What Apple collects to take the payment is covered by Apple's own privacy policy.
No tracking
No analytics, no advertising, no trackers, and nothing about you is sold or shared. Network traffic is the scanning, recipe-writing and drawing described above, plus Apple's own App Store traffic when you buy or restore a Season Pass.
Deleting your data
Settings › Delete this chef removes that chef, their shelf and their saved recipes from this device for good. Deleting the app removes everything for every chef.
